ABOUT US
MASStudio is not just a name, it has come together to provide stellar architectural and structural services. Established in 2019, it originated from the initials of the founding partners, Marcia and Sara, to provide our clientele with unparalleled, professional guidance and assistance.
MASS is also defined as a quantitative measure, there is no art or craft without knowledge, and preparation is a must for eventual success. MASS is matter, and what matters to us is the art of building and implementing our concepts, in addition to bringing them to life.
Both Marcia and Sara always had one common goal from the start: the thirst to question and to drive beyond the ordinary and to bring a distinctive approach, yet to create with commitment and sensitivity.

Marcia Calleja Haber and Sarabelle (a.k.a. Sara) D’Amato started off as friends during their St. Aloysius Sixth Form days, between 2003 and 2005, which led them to successfully complete their A-Levels and move on to the University of Malta to follow the Bachelors Degree in Engineering and Architecture for a further five years. Marcia chose to study architecture and design, whilst Sara preferred to focus on structural engineering.
Upon graduation, in 2010, they went their separate ways and worked in separate architectural firms for another three years.
Sara’s role involved her being more hands-on in a local construction company, mainly dealing with site supervision, quantity surveying and structural engineering; whilst also working part-time in an architectural firm. Sara attained her warrant in 2012.
On the other hand, Marcia worked in an Architect's office, focusing mainly on completing projects from start-to-finish, concentrating a great deal on architectural detailing, interior design, and the finishing of each project. Marcia attained her warrant in 2012.
As from 2015, Sara and Marcia started collaborating together on a professional level, on their own projects, which led to the launch of MASStudio in 2019.
MEET OUR TEAM
Akeela Jose
Principal Draughtsperson
Akeela joined MASStudio in 2022 as MASStudio’s principal draughtsperson. Akeela is a chartered engineer overseas and completed her studies in 2017. She comes from a background of civil engineering, quantity surveying and planning overseas, and has an excellent command of the 2D CAD software in both architectural and structural detailing. Her diligent and attentive qualities, together with her eagerness to learn further, have contributed extensively to both her personal career and MASStudio.
Marta Gatt Coleiro
Administrative and HR Executive
Marta has been part of MASStudio since 2021, and comes from a background of human resource management and employment training; besides past administration experience in a local interior design school. Her good leadership qualities and exceptional organisational skills, make the day-to-day management of MASStudio a breeze, and is the ‘go-to person’ for front desk and administrative assistance.
Katia Saliba
Accounts Executive
Katia has been part of MASStudio since its inauguration in 2019. She is always willing to help and achieve new goals, giving MASStudio a continual boost. Her eye-to-detail and willingness to learn, together with her vast background within the administration of a large academic institution, have greatly contributed towards the growth of MASStudio.
Amrutha KA
Structural Engineer
Amrutha joined MASStudio in 2023 as a draughtsperson and is now branching out and also assisting the structural design and detailing team. Amrutha graduated as a civil engineer in 2017 overseas and attained a Masters in Structural Engineering and Construction Management in 2021. Her ambition and her thirst to develop herself further, compliments MASStudio’s work ethic making her a core part of the team’s dynamics.
